TheVaticanannouncedMondaythatthecanonizationofBlessedCarloAcutishasbeenpostponedfollowingthedeathofPopeFrancis.
“FollowingthedeathofSupremePontiffFrancis,noticeisherebygiventhattheEucharisticcelebrationandRiteofCanonizationofBlessedCarloAcutis,scheduledforApril27,2025,IISundayofEasterorDivineMercy,ontheoccasionoftheJubileeofAdolescents,issuspended,”theHolySeePressOfficesaidinastatementonApril21.
Morethan80,000teenagerswereexpectedtogatherinRomefortheApril27canonizationamidtheVatican’sJubileeofTeenagers,accordingtotheDicasteryforEvangelization,withyoungpeopleregisteredfromtheUnitedStates,Brazil,India,Spain,Portugal,France,Ukraine,UnitedKingdom,Germany,Chile,Venezuela,Mexico,Australia,Argentina,andNigeria.
